Inaugural of CSI Student Branch by the Department of CSE for the academic year 2014-15 was held on Monday (15.09.2014) at 10.00am in Seminar Hall at Swarnandhra Institute of Engineering & Technology.

The programme was started with a welcome note, a prayer song, lightening of lamp, inaugurated with curtain raising and continued with the speeches, activities of CSI student branch and future plan proposed by Mr. T Raghunadha Reddy, HOD – CSE, SIET. The presidential address was given by Dr. S Ramesh Babu, Secretary. He motivated the students to set positive goals and suggested to do events with the banner of CSI, in future. The Principal, Dr. T Madhu delivered the felicitation address and mentioned the role of professional society in IT Industry. The Chief Guest of the function, Dr. J V R Murthy, Professor, Dept. of CSE, JNTUK – Kakinada, delivered a guest lecture onHadoop: Map – Reduce. The Guest of Honor Prof. Rajesh C Jampala, Chairman - CSI Vijayawada chapter, mentioned about the history, benefits of CSI and the programs conducted for the students under CSI. The Special invitees, Dr. M Muralidhara Rao and Dr. Balaji Reddy, quoted about the welfare of the students and briefed about the Recent Technologies in IT Industry. The CSI student branch convener, Ms. V Harika and Treasurer, Mr. Ch Hemanth Kumar, introduced the members of Student Branch committee. CSI Student branch counsellor, Mr. K Karunakar, Asst. Prof, proposed a vote of thanks and the function was closed with the National Anthem.
